No arms,no legs,no Limits!

Personal life:
A congenital amputee from Sunnybank, Brisbane, Australia. First born child into his devout Christian family, Nick Vujicic was born limbless, missing both arms at shoulder level, and having one small foot with two toes protruding from his left thigh. Initially his parents were devastated, however Nick turned out to be otherwise perfectly healthy.

His life was filled with difficulties and hardships. One such hardship was not being able to attend a main-stream school because of his physical disability, as the law of Australia required, even though he was not mentally impaired. During his schooling, the laws were changed, and Nick was one of the first disabled students to be migrated to a mainstream school.

He learned to write using the two toes on his left "foot", and a special device that slid onto his big toe to grip. He also learned to use a computer and type using the "heel and toe" method (as demonstrated in his
speeches). He can also throw tennis balls, and answer the phone (also demonstrated in speeches).

Being bullied at his school, Nick grew extremely depressed, and by the age of eight, started contemplating suicide. After begging God to grow arms and legs, Nick eventually began to realize that his accomplishments were inspirational to many, and began to thank God he was alive. When he was seventeen, he started to give talks at his prayer group, and eventually starting his non-profit organization, Life Without Limbs.

Career:
Nick graduated from college at the age of 21, and began his travels as a motivational speaker, focusing on the topics that today's teenagers face. He also speaks in the corporate sector, however his aim is to become an international inspirational speaker, in both Christian and non-Christian venues. He regularly travels internationally to speak to Christian congregations. By the age of 25 he hopes to become financially independent, however he wishes to promote his words through shows like The Oprah Winfrey Show, as well as writing books. His first book, planned for completion by the end of 2007, is to be called 'No Arms, No Legs, No Worries!'

In the meantime, there is a DVD available "Life Without Limbs". Most of the DVD was filmed in 2005, featuring a brief documentary about his home life, and how he does regular things without limbs. The second part of the DVD was filmed at his local church in Brisbane, and was one of his first professional motivational speeches.
Thanks: wikipedia.com

Here in the following short presentations,Nick is talkingabout three things:1.Perspective2.Vision3.Choices
Some of his great thoughts:
who are you?what you are seeing?where are you going?
Think about what you are having.Expand it.Give yourself a credit.
Have Vision beyond comprehensions.Keep on moving forward one step at a time.
The day you think, you reached your potential is the day you haven't.
Do not put off the things that you can do it today.Don't procrastinate.
Make better choices.

The Joy of Receiving!

The Joy of Receiving
Previous weekend,i had some work to do at office,so i was on my way to the office.
As i was waiting for the bus at the transfer,i met another passenger also waiting for the bus.
As the regular road from which the bus used to come got closed,he started the conversation with which way the bus will come.As we spoke little more,i came to know to know that he knows german, russian languages too.
I told him that knowing other languages is good.He replied that it is great for communication.
He told me that he travelled to pakistan, afganistan. He asked me where am i from.I told him that i am from southern part of india.
He said nice, and told that there are lot of hatred going on in this world.I told him that we need lot of love.
He introduced himself by shaking hand. The bus came,we boarded the bus.
Then,he did the wonderful act.He handed me over an apple.I accepted it with thanks. He gave another one to the driver. The driver accepted it with thanks.
I was so happy that day as i received that apple wholeheartedly,as i will be receiving from my grandfather. The joy of receiving was wonderful.
When i went home,i told my wife about the apple. We shared the apple and ate happily with my child.
What a wonderful way to spread love and compassion!I learned the following things with this incident:
Give whatever you can to others,be it may be time, food, consulting, services, money. You will be rewarded. This is the law of give and take.
There is a saying,Once you are ready to learn, the master will appear.
Once you are ready to receive, this universe will give you you whatever you want. This universe is full of abundance.
Thanks Bob for the Apple!.

Reward For Action

Reward For Action
Two weeks before,we(myself, wife and kid) went for shopping and came by bus.At the transfer point,we got down with the bags and came to know that the same bus will continue to our stopping. We boarded again with the bags and our kid,his stroller.I kept some of the grocery bags underneath the seat. Our stopping came,i took the bags on the seat and we got down.
Immediately,we noticed that the some of the bags are missing. We are not sure weather they are in the bus or left at the transfer point.
I called the customer service of the bus, told them what happened. She told me to call after some time as the bus is not in.I called again, she told me that there are no bags in the bus.We decided that i should go and check at the transfer point.
I checked there and found nothing. We discussed and decided to buy all the stuff once again. So iwent to the grocery stores and bought all the stuff once again.
I boarded the bus and found the driver to be familiar. She was the same driver last time i travelled. So i told her what happened.
She told me that the bags are with her and she is about to handover to the bus depot.
I was so happy, thanked her,got down with twice the grocery. My wife told me it is a magic.
It is a simple event,it taught me lot:
1.Take immediate action.
2.Be flexible in your plan.
3.Have more than one plan as a backup.
4.Work towards the goal, you will be rewarded.

Limitations Exist in Mind

Limitations exist in mind, every aim is achievable: Sunita

Limitations exist in mind, every aim is achievable--that is the message American astronaut of Indian origin Sunita Williams gave children at the Mahatma Gandhi Sabarmati Ashram here today.
"Limitations are creations of the mind and if one sincerely tries every aim is achievable" she said while sending out a strong message to nearly 500 children on the need to protect the Planet Earth.
Wearing a blue T-shirt and jeans and sporting her trademark headband, Sunita, who set a record in space-walks by a woman during her 195-day stay at the International Space Station ISS, told a gathering of school students, Gandhians that when she looked down at the Earth from the ISS she could not see any boundaries that divided countries.
"Like limitations, borders too existed in the minds. So, I think that all of you can achieve once you begin to believe in yourself. Limitations are all in your mind", said the pilot with the National Association for Space Administration (NASA).
Sunita was given a rousing welcome by when she visited the Sabarmati Ashram founded by the Father of Nation some 90 years ago.

Attitude is the Key to Success

Attitude is the Key To Success
We all want success in life. We want success in our home life, business life, and in our relationships with others. The most important single factor that guarantees our success in every aspect of our lives is having a positive attitude.
Without a positive attitude success is not possible. Earl Nightingale call attitude "the magic word." You will never attract positive things into your life if all of your thoughts are negative. Just as a magnet attracts anything metal our minds attract the things we think about most. Your mind will always seek to turn the things you think about most into physical reality.
Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, "A man becomes what he thinks about, most of the time." Everyone of us has two different minds, the conscious and the subconscious. The conscious mind is our thinking, which uses logic, deduction, reason, and sound judgment to make its decisions. Your choices in life are made by the conscious mind. The subconscious mind lies outside your conscious mind. It has access to data, information, and ideas outside your own experience. Your subconscious mind works 24 hours a day and it is the source of all examples of pure creativity, problem solving, and goal achievement. It is a magical part of your mind. The part of your mind where genius lies.
Our subconscious mind is not able to distinguish between positive and negative thoughts. So, if you tell yourself something often enough your subconscious will eventually come to believe it. If you repeat something often enough whether it be positive or negative it will become your reality. This is because your subconscious mind constantly strives to attract the material equivalent of your most frequent and prominent thoughts.
It is impossible for a negative mind to attract positive things. If you're thinking about problems constantly you will find them. Is it possible to overcome negative and pessimistic thinking with positive thoughts? You bet it is! And it's something which can be easily learned. It's all a matter of conditioning. You can train your mind to think positive thoughts the same way you can learn anything else. The way to do this, is to remove any negative thoughts one at a time until there are none left. And for each negative thought that you remove, you then plant a new and positive thought in its place. You then nurture those positive thoughts until there is no room for any negative thoughts to grow.
Then, make a habit of stopping a negative thought any time it appears and replacing it with a positive thought. For example, replace, "I can't do it" with "I can do it" and you'll find your attitude and your life will greatly improve. Positive thoughts will lead you to financial success and it will help you find the true riches of life for yourself and your family.
So whatever it is in life that you want, you must begin today to become a "positive thinker." Once you do this your future success will be unlimited.

Anger Management

WORDS ONCE SAID CANNOT BE TAKEN BACK
God has bestowed on human beings the ability to communicate in a beautiful way – WORDS. But…….
Frequently noticed is the way people address each other when in anger - the most abusive way.
The other day while traveling in a bus, I happened to witness this scenario.
The bus was slightly crowded. Standing just in front of me was a lady well dressed and the manner in which she was speaking to her colleague/friend showed she was well educated. A sudden brake applied by the bus driver and all of us with a jerk moved forward. A man standing near this lady lost balance and almost fell on her. Well all hell broke loose.
This lady whose voice and decency I was admiring few seconds back, surprised me with her voice and words. She hurled the most abusive words at this man. Initially he apologized, but seeing that she was in no mood to accept the apology, he started to retort back. Amidst the crowd were these two hurling the most abusive, vulgar and rubbish words at each other. Interference from the co passengers proved to be futile. Their verbal abuses at each other did not stop there, they went on to abuse each other’s parents. Where is the decency? Such indecency from well educated people!
It is not just this scene on the bus, many a time have I noticed that people seem to abuse verbally when they lose their temper. Later some do regret, but to what use, once the words come out of our mouth, taking them back is just not possible. The harm has already been done. Hurting words leave a permanent scar and the pain is much more than the physical hurt that one undergoes.
Everything that emits out of human body stinks. The ALMIGHTY has bestowed on human being – the ability to speak. And we have full control over the words that we use. So why let the words also stink. Why not let us keep a check on words that come out.
Sweet and pleasing words, bear a better impression on all. Well the question that would arise is how can we utter sweet and pleasing words when we are angry or when the other person is in the wrong? Right, but there is a way to handle everything, and anger and verbal abuse is just not the way.

The Law of Magic

The Law of Magic
I will tell you one of the deepest laws of life. You may not have thought about it at all. You have heard — the whole of science depends on it — that cause and effect is the base. You create the cause and the effect follows. Life is a causal link. You put the seed in the soil and it will sprout. If the cause is there, then the tree will follow. The fire is there: you put your hand in it and it will burn. The cause is there and the effect will follow. You take poison and you will die. You arrange for the cause and then the effect follows. This is one of the most basic scientific laws, that cause and effect is the innermost link of all processes of life. Religion knows about a second law which is still deeper than this.
But the second law which is deeper than this will look absurd if you don’t know it and don’t experiment with it.Religion says: Produce the effect and the cause follows. This is absolutely absurd in scientific terms. Science says: If the cause is there, the effect follows. Religion says the converse is also true: you create the effect, and see: the cause follows. There is a situation in which you feel happy. A friend has come, a beloved has called. A situation is the cause — you feel happy. Happiness is the effect. The coming of the beloved is the cause.
Religion says: Be happy and the beloved comes. Create the effect and the cause follows. This is my own experience, that the second law is more basic than the first. I have been doing it and it has been happening. Just be happy: the beloved comes. Just be happy: friends are there. Just be happy: everything follows.Jesus says the same thing in different words: Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, then all else will follow. But the Kingdom of God is the end, the effect. Seek ye first the end — the end means the effect, the result — and the cause will follow. This is as it should be.It is not only that you place a seed in the soil and the tree follows; let there be a tree and there are millions of seeds.
If the cause is followed by the effect, the effect is again followed by the cause. This is the chain! Then it becomes a circle — start from anywhere, create the cause or create the effect.I tell you, it is easier to create the effect because the effect depends totally upon you; the cause may not be so dependent on you. If I say I can only be happy when a certain friend is there, then it depends on a certain friend, whether he is there or not. If I say I cannot be happy until I attain this much wealth, then it depends on the whole world and the economic situations and everything. It may not happen, and then I cannot be happy. The cause is beyond me. The effect is within me. The cause is in the surroundings, in the situations — the cause is without. The effect is me!
If I can create the effect, the cause will follow.Choose happiness — that means you are choosing the effect — and then see what happens. Choose ecstasy and see what happens. Choose to be blissful and see what happens. Your whole life will change immediately and you will see miracles happening around you...because now you have created the effect and causes will have to follow. This will look magical; you can even call it “The Law of Magic.”
The first is the law of science and the second is the law of magic. Religion is magic, and you can be the magician. That’s what I teach you: to be the magician, to know the secret of magic.Try it! You have been trying the other your whole life — not only this but many other lives also. Now listen to me! Try this magic formula, this mantra I give to you. Create the effect and see what happens; causes immediately surround you, they follow. Don’t wait for the causes; you have waited long enough. Choose happiness and you will be happy.
What is the problem? Why can’t you choose? Why can’t you work on this law? Because your mind, the whole mind, which has been trained by scientific thinking, says that if you are not happy and you try to be happy, that happiness will be artificial. If you are not happy and you try to be happy that will be just acting, that will not be real. This is what scientific thinking says, that that will not be real, you will be just acting. But you don’t know: life energy has its own ways of working. If you can act totally it will become the real. The only thing is, the actor must not be there. Move totally in it, then there is no difference.
If you are acting half-heartedly then it will remain artificial. If I say to you dance and sing and be blissful, and you try half-heartedly, just to see what happens, but you remain behind...and you go on thinking: This is just artificial. I am trying but this is not coming, this is not spontaneous — then it will remain acting, a waste of time.If you try, then try wholeheartedly. Don’t remain behind, move into it, become the acting — dissolve the actor into acting and then see what happens. It will become real and then you will feel it is spontaneous. You have not done it; you will know then that it has happened. But unless you are total this cannot happen.
Create the effect, be in it completely, see and observe the results.I can make you kings without kingdoms; you only have to act like kings, and act so totally that before you even a real king will appear as if he is just acting. And when the whole energy has moved into it, it becomes reality! Energy makes anything real. If you wait for kingdoms they never come.Even for a Napoleon, for an Alexander, who had big kingdoms, they never came. They remained miserable because they didn’t come to realize the second, more basic and primal law of life. Alexander was trying to create a bigger kingdom, to become a bigger king. His whole life was wasted in creating the kingdom, and then there was no time left for him to be king. He died before the kingdom was complete. This has happened to many. The kingdom can never be complete.
The world is infinite; your kingdom is bound to remain partial. With a partial kingdom how can you be a total king? Your kingdom is bound to be limited and with a limited kingdom how can you be the emperor? It is impossible. But you can be the emperor. Just create the effect.Swami Ram, one of the mystics of this century, went to America. He used to call himself Badshah Ram, Emperor Ram. And he was a beggar! Somebody said to him: You are just a beggar, but you go on calling yourself the emperor. So Ram said: Don’t look at my things, look at me. And he was right, because if you look at things then everybody is a beggar...even an emperor. He may be a bigger beggar, that’s all. When Ram said: Look at me! in that moment, Ram was the emperor. If you looked, the emperor was there.
Create the effect, become the emperor, be a magician... and from this very moment, because there is no need to wait. One has to wait if the kingdom has to come first. If the cause has to be created first, then one has to wait and wait and wait and postpone. There is no need to wait to create the effect. You can be the emperor this very moment. When I say, Be! Just be the emperor and see: the kingdom follows.... I have known it through my experience. I am not talking to you about a theory or a doctrine. Be happy, and in that peak of happiness you will see the whole world is happy with you. There is an old saying: Laugh and the world laughs with you; cry, and you cry alone. Even the trees, the rocks, the sand, the clouds...if you can create the effect and be ecstatic, they will all dance with you; then the whole existence becomes a dance, a celebration. But it depends on you, if you can create the effect.
And I say to you, you can create it. It is the easiest thing possible. It looks very difficult because you have not tried it yet. Give it a try!

Self Belief

Self Belief

Based on my observation and self enquiry ,I used to take notes every day on how our mind works and how we can improve. After accumulating the facts for around 90 pages, I was stunned to know the solution for all difficulties in our life would be "self belief”. I have heard this words "Self belief" before, just on theory level, but now I realized the value and depth of its meaning. Because self belief lets us to execute action with concentration, gives clarity and enables us to think on a single point without any distraction or confusion. It also improves our listening, observation and never creates conflict with people because it helps us in not feeling inferior. Self belief is energy in thought level ,which prepares us to face life, without running away from the problem.

I guess self belief is not a big secret, mostly everybody knows it. Then what's the barrier that's not letting us to apply self belief. It’s because we have an image about ourselves but we haven’t believed in that. The nature of the self is invulnerable, which cannot afford to loose, rather wants 100% success. So we are always afraid to do something new, execute activity with confidence because we expect 100% success due to the image, identity, or ego for which loosing is dieing and gives enormous fear. Fear infects our thought and it's actions. We should always believe in our self, because only if we are convinced about ourselves, we could make others believe in us. Believing in our self also makes us comfortable about ourselves and helps us to present ourselves to others, without any confusion or hesitation. Because of it, connecting and communicating with people also improves.

Self belief should be a mantra we need to follow in life, for being balanced, happy and successful in life.

How to get whatever you want

I'm not talking about a little bit more - but an abundance of everything that you can think of.

Imagine having an abundant supply of m?, an abundant supply of customers, an abundant supply of friends, an abundant supply of confidence?

You can have everything you want.

How To Manifest Abundance

If you want abundance you have to first be clear on what you want -that is - know exactly what you want. Then you have to think abundance all the time.

If you want an abundant supply of money - great - now think of having an abundance of wealth. If you want better health - focus on having an abundance of energy and health.

Think about having an abundance of what you want.

I don't mean a little more or a lot more - I mean abundance - a never-ending supply.

Can you see yourself having a never-ending supply of wealth? Energy? Happiness? Romance? Friends? Confidence? Anything?

If you can't then you won't be able to manifest abundance.

Before you can experience having abundance you first have to believe that you can have a never-ending supply of anything that you want.

Think about it - there really is a never-ending supply of all that we need.

There's enough naturally grown food to feed the world ten times over - even though millions starve each year. There is still enough for everyone and more.

If you know what you want - and know that you can have an abundance of what you want then you can begin working with the process of creating abundance.

How do you do this? First you must learn that everything is made of energy, like a magnetic device, we draw to us that which we focus on. So lets start

with an idea, because everything begins with an idea. Be very clear about your

idea, is this really what you desire? Get very clear about what it is that you want.

I like to use the T tool ?merely a T drawn on a piece of paper. On one side let's

write down all the things that we want. On the other side let's write down

everything that we don't want. Do not limit your thinking this is time to free your mind.

Now let's look at our list and prioritize the things that we want from 1-25.

The things that you don't want will be tossed into the trash for take out.

Now split the paper in half and lets get to work.

Get some sort of poster board paper and find pictures and photos of the things

that represent what you want and post them on the board in plain view so that

you can see them everyday. This is called your vision board. Make no mistake

this is powerful.

This is where the real work begins. Every morning and every evening before

retiring look at your vision board, make sure you can feel, taste, smell, see

and touch your desires by adding emotion you are creating your desires.

Remember your subconscious mind doesn't know the difference between

reality and fantasy. For 30 minutes a day you will begin to see a change in

30 days or less.

Turning Point

Turning Point
In Life, we have something called Turning Points weather you believe it or not. But one should not keep idle and waiting for it. If one keeps on doing what he has to do and keep on trying what he dreams to do, he will get the right Turning point. If one keeps on having a positive attitude, filtering negative stuff whatever happens, one will get his Turning point.
Once one gets his/her Turning point, automatically magic will happen. He/She will start to attract all the good things and the things one ever dreamed so far will start to fall in place.
Here is my personal experience:
I had two Turning Points. First one happened around 2003 when I was sick. Till that time, I used to smoke, drink(small ones),had pawns(tobacco chewing).Once I was hospitalized, left alone, struggled alone, had an operation, I realized the fact. Then there was the Turning Point. After this point, I never touched any of the stuff, I mentioned above so far.
My second Turning point came when we were blessed with my child in 2006.After this point, everything seems to be wonderful. Our family is together. One of my cousin got a job in a good reputed software company, another one got a chance to work in USA,another one joined Engineering, we started our own software company, we started constructing our house. Many great things are happening and we are attracting only SUCCESS! It is amazing!
So Be Positive, Think Positive, Wait patiently, you will attract all the good stuff once your Turning point comes in.

All the best!

Four main components of Goal-Setting

Four main components of Goal-Setting:
By Jim Rohn

1. Evaluation and Reflection.
The only way we can reasonably decide what we want in the future and how we will get there, is to first know where we are right now and secondly, what our level of satisfaction is for where we are in life. As we focus this month on goal-setting, our first order of business and our topic two weeks ago was evaluation and reflection.
2. Dreams and Goals.
What are your dreams and goals? Not related to the past or what you think you can get, but what you want. Have you ever really sat down and thought through your life values and decided what you really want? This isn't something that someone else says you should have or what culture tells us successful people do or have. These are the dreams and goals that are born out of your own heart and mind. These are the goals that are unique to you and come from who you were created to be and gifted to become. Last week we showed you exactly how to find out what you want from life.
3. S.M.A.R.T. Goals.
S.M.A.R.T. means Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-sensitive.
Specific: Don't be vague. Exactly what do you want?Measurable: Quantify your goal. How will you know if you've achieved it or not?Attainable: Be honest with yourself about what you can reasonably accomplish at this point in your life - along with taking into consideration your current responsibilities.Realistic: It's got to be do-able, real and practical.Time: Associate a timeframe with each goal. When should you complete the goal?We will spend time this week looking at how to apply the S.M.A.R.T. test to your goals to make sure they are as powerful as they can be!
4. Accountability.
Think of the word "accountable." It means to "give an account." When someone knows what your goals are, they help hold you accountable. Whether it is someone else going through this program with you (have you thought about inviting a friend to join you on this one-year journey?) or just someone you can give the basic idea to, having a person who can hold you accountable will give you another added boost to getting your goals!S.M.A.R.T. Goals.S.M.A.R.T. means Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-sensitive.
I really like this acronym S.M.A.R.T., because we want to be smart when we set our goals. We want to intelligently decide what our goals will be so that we can actually accomplish them. We want to set the goals that our heart conceives, that our mind believes and that our bodies will carry out. Let's take a closer look at each of the components of S.M.A.R.T. goals:Specific: Goals are no place to waffle. They are no place to be vague. Ambiguous goals produce ambiguous results. Incomplete goals produce incomplete futures. When we are specific, we harness the power of our dreams and set forces into action that empower us to achieve our goals. We then know exactly what it is we are shooting for. There is no question. As we establish our priorities and manage our time, we do so for a specific goal to achieve the results we expect. There is no wondering or guessing. The future is locked into our minds and we see it - specifically - and that is powerful! Never underestimate just how important it is to have very specific, concrete goals. They act as magnets that draw you toward them! A S.M.A.R.T. goal is specific.Measurable: Always set goals that are measurable. I would say "specifically measurable" to take into account our principle of being specific as well. Our goals should be such that we know when we are advancing and by how much. Whether it is by hours, pounds, dollars or whatever, we should be able to see exactly how we are measuring up as we proceed through the journey of life using our goals. Could you imagine if you didn't measure your goals? You would never know which way you were going or even if you were going anywhere! A S.M.A.R.T. goal is measurable.Attainable: One of the detrimental things that many people do - and they do it with good intentions - is to set goals that are so high they are unattainable. Yes, it is very important to set big goals that cause your heart to soar with excitement, but it is also imperative to make sure that they are attainable. In the next section we talk about being realistic. So what does it mean to be attainable? An attainable goal is one that is both realistic but also attainable in a shorter period of time than what you have to work with. Now when I say attainable, I don't mean easy. Our goals should be set so they are just out of our reach; so they will challenge us to grow as we reach forward to achieve them. After the next paragraph, I will give you an example of a goal that is both attainable and realistic. A S.M.A.R.T. goal is attainable.Realistic: The root word of realistic is "real." A goal has to be something that we can reasonably make "real" or a "reality" in our lives. There are some goals that simply are not realistic. You have to be able to say, even if it is a tremendously stretching goal, that yes, indeed, it is entirely realistic -- that you could make it. You may even have to say that it will take x, y, and z to do it, but if those happen, then it can be done. This is in no way to say it shouldn't be a big goal, but it must be realistic. This is to a great degree, up to the individual. For one person a goal may be realistic, but for another unrealistic. I would encourage you to be very honest with yourself as you do your planning and evaluation. Perhaps it would be good to get a friend to help you (as long as that friend is by nature an optimist and not a pessimist). This can go a long way toward helping you know what is realistic. A S.M.A.R.T. goal is realistic.Example of Attainable and Realistic: Knowing that perhaps you could use a bit of help differentiating attainable and realistic, here is an example: You are overweight and have 150 pounds to lose to get to your proper weight. Is that goal attainable? Yes, considering that you also make it realistic. For example, it isn't realistic to think you can do it in 5 months. 18-24 months would be realistic (with hard work). Thus, losing 150 pounds in 2 years is both attainable and realistic, while losing 150 pounds in 5 months is neither attainable nor realistic.
Time: Every goal should have a timeframe attached to it. I think that life itself is much more productive for us as humans because there is a timeframe connected to it. Could you imagine how much procrastination there would be on earth if people never died? We would never get "around to it." We could always put it off. One of the powerful aspects of a great goal is that it has an end, a time in which you are shooting to accomplish it. You start working on it because you know there is an end. As time goes by you work because you don't want to get behind. As it approaches, you work diligently because you want to meet the deadline. You may even have to break down a big goal into different measured parts time frames. That is okay. Set smaller goals and work them out in their own time. A S.M.A.R.T. goal has a timeline.Be sure to spend some reflection time this week to make sure your goals fit the S.M.A.R.T. parameters. Go through the reflection questions below and the action points associated with them. Doing so will put a real engine in your goals and make them charged with power to help you accomplish your dreams.

How to get oppurtunities

How do you attract opportunity into your life?
By: Jim Rohn
Someone recently asked me the question: "How can I have more opportunities come intomy life?" Good question, but I think my answer surprised them a bit. I bypassed the obvious (and necessary) points about hard work, persistence andpreparation. They actually were very hard workers. And they had the great attribute ofbeing seekers, they were on the outlook. But I felt maybe they were missing this next andmost valuable point - attraction. I always thought opportunities and success were something you went after, then I foundout that I needed to turn it around. Opportunities and success are not something you goafter necessarily, but something you attract - by becoming an attractive person. That’s why I teach development of skills. If you can develop your skills, keep refining allthe parts of your character and yourself, your health, your relationships, etc. so that youbecome an attractive person to the marketplace - you’ll attract opportunity. Opportunitywill probably seek you out. Your reputation will probably precede you and someone willwant to do business with you. All of the possibilities are there by working on the philosophythat success is something you attract. The key is to continue making yourself a more attractive person by the skills you have, thedisciplines you have, the personality you’ve acquired, the character and reputation youhave established, the language and speech you use - all of that refinement makes youmore attractive to the marketplace. Personal development - the never ending chance to improve not only yourself, but also toattract opportunities and affect others. To Your Success,Jim Rohn Check out Jim Rohn's website here: www.jimrohn.com

Have an Attitude of Gratitude!

Here is an article i read this morning:

Have an Attitude Of Gratitude:

How often are you living a life with an attitude of gratitude? Sure, sometimes it's easy to remember to be grateful. Like when you're driving down a road with a lot of stoplights. Stay green. Stay green. Stay green, you're telling the light as you're moving along towards it. Stay green.Thank you!Stay green. Stay green. Stay green.Thank you!And on down the road until you get to where you’re going. What about the stoplights of life? The places where you want to stay green, stay green, stay green. Like make more money, have more friends, be happier, have better health. Those kinds of things. Are you expressing gratitude for the money you do have? Thank you for the $____(fill in the amount) I have in the bank.Want more friends? Appreciate the ones you have. Thank you thank you thank you for the wonderful friends I have. Thank you for Bill and Bob and Kathy and Susie and….How about happiness. Want to be happier? Here’s a suggestion: Sit down, right now, even before you’re done reading this, and write out a list of things you’re grateful for. You WILL get yourself in a happier mood.Immediately. Something about appreciating things makes the happy thoughts start flowing.Maybe you want better health? Be grateful for the health you do have. So take the time, get into the attitude of gratitude. Make it a game. Look around as you go through your day. What can you be grateful for? Start keeping a gratitude journal. Write in it every evening. Make it a game to find at least three things to be grateful for every day.
Living a life with an attitude of gratitude means saying thank you a lot! The more you appreciate, the more the Law of Attraction wants to send good things your way.Mollie Manuell has written more about how to be happy at http://www.happy-happy-happy.net/ezh

Managing Personal Energy-Key to Success

Hi,

I was out on vacation for couple of weeks to india. Now i am back to U.S with my family.
Here is an article i read on today morning:

‘Managing personal energy is the key to success’
If you want to reach great heights in life and taste success, wealth, happiness and health, you need to manage your energy, thoughts and emotions with insight, says Ravindra Potharaju, the founder and CEO of Bangalore-based PEM Training Solutions (www.pemtraining.com).
PEM stands for ‘personal energy management’ and Potharaju’s organization aims at helping individuals and corporates establish and sustain effective “energy flow patterns”.
The quality of one’s life depends on management of personal energy, he asserts. “It is all about drawing energy from various sources and deploying it effectively, which would lead to sustained happiness.”
Listening to one’s inner voice will guide exactly to what one wanted to be, assures Potharaju, an engineering graduate from Birla Institute of Technology, and former head of learning services, IBM India.
Find the ‘genie’ or ‘interest’ within, he exhorts. “It is the most valuable thing in life. Striving to acquire knowledge of this, therefore, should be the sole purpose for anyone. All others are only secondary. Because once this knowledge blooms, other things will fall in correct order.”
Alas, most of us programmed to do what others wanted us to do from our childhood days, and we do it unknowingly, frets Potharaju. “Most of us are programmed to lead an ant’s life! It becomes little harder afterwards to find the ‘genie’ within, because of the ‘programmed’ mentality.”
Finding or feeling the ‘genie’ is not enough; check if you have the courage to pick up the profession you love. Very few have achieved that, says Potharaju, in a recent email interaction with Business Line.
“The few who have the initial courage to pick up a profession they love, tend to lose heart when the desired results are not forthcoming immediately. They lapse back into ant’s life.” It is the rare ones, like the true leaders, who manage to see themselves through the initial stages of ridicule, rejection, insecurity and uncertainty they are subjected to.
“Successful people are those who immensely loved their profession and created value to the environment around. They enjoyed their profession fully with unbridled willingness flowing out. Success and money reached them because they created value to the people around them, and not because they desired wealth directly or solely for itself.”
Taking a cue from those who succeeded, one can start enjoying the daily chores, be it in office or at home, with willingness at whatever ‘level’ one is placed, and that would, definitely, create value for the others around, he advises.
Well, how does one handle failures in profession, some of which may be due to decisions going unexpectedly wrong or due to sudden health problems? “Such crises are like falling into quicksand,” according to Potharaju. “The first step to remain afloat is to stop struggling. The more one struggles against it the more he would get sucked into it and very soon the problem will totally engulf him.”
As in the famed prayer of Alcoholics Anonymous, one must perhaps learn to accept things that cannot be changed. Potharaju narrates the example of a successful soccer player who damaged his legs permanently in an accident. “He needs to realize that he cannot play the game. Non-acceptance of the ‘crisis’ situation would lead to a constant struggle ‘inside’ – between the ‘memories of the past’ and ‘worries of the future’. In the process, he would allow the present moment, where the solution lay, to slip away.”
Acceptance in total has the ability to turn one’s attention to ‘now’ and, as a result, solutions would start emerging, explains Potharaju. “The disabled soccer player would realize that there are other options, to continue doing what he enjoys and make a profession out of it, like becoming a coach or a commentator. During the period of uncertainty, it is only self-belief that can carry you further.”
On what should be the motivating force for pursuing anything, be it success, wealth or fame, Potharaju’s prescription is simple and straight: “First, ask yourself if the profession, study or anything that you are doing is enjoyable to you, and how you can be more useful to others by performing that, by reaching out to more folks and creating value for them. The task should also challenge your abilities. Also assess whether there is a fair value in return.”
Success, after all, is the ‘energy owed’ flowing back to us in different forms, he reasons. “The source of ‘willingness’ needs to be permanent to sustain ‘enjoyment at work’ and that would come only when you choose a profession that you love.”
Environment reshapes our abilities, for good or bad, cautions Potharaju. “Environment is more powerful than one’s will which is why the wise would choose their company very carefully.”
A wily ‘cat’ to watch out for is ‘ego’ that can creep in now and then! “Bell the cat in time, otherwise it will drag your energy into unwanted things,” he says, alluding to a popular bedtime tale.
“Will created by manipulation of emotions can at best be temporary or artificial. Ego, the ultimate source of this ‘artificial will’ can be easily manipulated, and whatever can be manipulated cannot be sustained.”
Competition is part of our work life, and we keep our collective noses close to the grindstone. It does dissipate energy at the personal level, concedes Potharaju. He suggests a look at the nature of competition to know whether the energy spent is consumption (which is wastage) or investment (which comes back).
“If competition is not mindless and for correct reasons then it is investment. A cricketer giving his best at the highest level for his country gets the energy flowing back to him in the form of recognition, wealth and happiness.”
When desiring a pursuit, take a leaf from Arjun, the iconic archer in the Mahabharata, counsels Potharaju. “In a mind-free state, he aimed at a bird’s eye, seeing only that, and not even the bird. While executing, the energy stored in his bow got transferred to the arrow, which flew fast to hit the bird’s eye when released.”
What is the moral of the story? “Like an arrow gathering energy from an archer’s hand, one’s desire should get abundant energy. For that, a person must aim at the desired target with single-minded approach, not encouraging other thoughts in the mind. Then, the desire, after deriving abundant energy, gets converted into strong action and results in success.”
Dipping again into ancient wisdom, Potharaju cites the Buddha’s words – that the root cause of all evils is desire – and goes on to add a fresh perspective to the maxim: “To enjoy sustained happiness, asking for the correct desire would help. Otherwise, mere fulfillment of the desire would take away happiness in life.”
He is the author of ‘Give me back my Guitar,’ a collection of age-old stories in new light. His first book was ‘Fools Work Hard for Others’.
Potharaju is also the Advisor and member of the board, MINDS, the school of Management for Infrastructure and Development Strategies, India.

The Pursuit Of Happiness

Today i have seen the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness" starring will smith. It is an impressive movie and the story is a great one.It is emotionally powerful movie. Will Smith did a terrific job.
The story is about an ordinary man's journey againstinsurmountable odds to reach his goals. It is a real life story.
The real life man is Chris Gardner. He had a bad childhood and seen his mom only at the age of 25as she went to jail twice. He was abused by his step father.

Inspirational Stories

A Small Help at the right Time:

"One night, at 11:30 PM, an older African American
woman was standing on the side of an Alabama
highway trying to endure a lashing rainstorm. Her car
had broken down and she desperately needed a ride.
Soaking wet, she decided to flag down the next car.

A young white man stopped to help her, generally
unheard of in those conflict-filled 1960s. The man took
her to safety, helped her get assistance and put her into
a taxicab. She seemed to be in a big hurry, but wrote
down his address and thanked him.

Seven days went by and a knock came on the man's
door. To his surprise, a giant console color TV was
delivered to his home. A special note was attached.

It read: 'Thank you so much for assisting me on the
highway the other night. The rain drenched not only
my clothes, but also my spirits. Then you came along.
Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying
husband's bedside just before he passed away. God
bless you for helping me and unselfishly serving others.
Sincerely, Mrs. Nat King Cole. '"

WHERE IS GOD?
A man went to a barbershop to have a haircut and his beard trimmed.
As the Barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God,the barber said:"I don't believe that God exists""Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.Tell me,if God exists, would there be so many sick people?would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.I can't imagine God would allow all of these things."
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop,he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.
The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "you know what?Barbers do not exist.""How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber."I am here, and i am a barber. And i just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed."Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like the man outside".
"Ah,but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."
"Exactly!" affirmed the customer."That's the point!God,too,DOES exist! That's what happens when people do not go to him and don't look to him for help. That's why so much pain and suffering in the world".
"BE BLESSED & BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS!!!

BOUNCING BACK

Kannan Viswagandhi, EzineArticles.com Basic Author

Last week, I saw the video of Warren McDonald(See his video without leaving this page, thanks to Google). It is an amazing story of will power, courage,Hope which moved me to write about bouncing back in life in this week.
In April 1997, when Climbing to the Islands tallest peak, he met with a terrible accident. He got trapped beneath a one-ton slab of stone in a rock fall. Two days later he was rescued, he got the amputation of both his legs at mid thigh.Just ten months later he displayed the courage, successfully summiting first Cradle Mountain then Federation Peak, Australia’s toughest mountain summit! In February 2003, he became the first double above-knee amputee to reach the summit of Africa’s tallest peak, Mt Kilimanjaro (19,222ft), and more recently, created history once again in an ascent of America's tallest cliff face, El Capitan.
Another Great man in the past history did a remarkable come back and reached the highest office in united states. He is none other than Abraham Lincoln. See the chronology of events in his life:

Failed in business at age 31
Was defeated in a legislative race at age 32
Failed again in business at age 34
Overcome death of sweetheart at age 35
Had a nervous breakdown at age 36
Lost an election at age 38
Lost a congressional race at age 43
Lost a congressional race at age 46
Lost a congressional race at age 48
Lost a Senatorial race at age 55
Failed to become Vice President at age 56
Lost a Senatorial race at age 58
Was elected President of the United States at age 60

Donald Trump, the billionaire real estate mogul went bankrupt in 1990,had debt of 900 millions us dollar.
He had hope, kept his cool, fought back within five years. He told in one of his interviews, Guinness considered his comeback as one of the greatest financial comebacks for an individual.
One of the greatest comebacks for a nation is Japan. Read below the effects of bombing in Japan:
A more accurate survey combining body counts, unresolved missing-person reports and interviews conducted by neighborhood associations during the years following the bombing suggests that as many as 130,000 people lost their lives as a direct result of the bomb up to the beginning of November 1945.A similar survey by the Nagasaki officials set the final death toll for that city at 60,000 to 70,000. By the time the bombing stopped and the smoke cleared, Japan’s total economic losses from World War II amounted to the equivalent of about one year’s national output.
Here is the proof for the remarkable story of Japan’s comeback:
The Japanese economy is the second largest market economy in the world. In 1998 it recorded a gross domestic product (GDP) of 481 trillion yen (US $3.67 trillion).Per capita national income in 1997 was US $28,361, ranking Japan fourth in the world.
My first hand experience:
I entered U.S in 2000 when the market was so dull, very few jobs. No one was ready to hire people as the uncertainty over the presidential election. I was in bench for three months. One fine morning, I was one of the candidates to go back to India. I told my employer to give me some more time, but in vain. I told all my family problems and why should stay in U.S for some more time. I got sponsorship from another employer in Chicago. I boarded greyhound bus to chocago, traveled for 23 hours without knowing what was in there for me in Chicago. I got training in a new data warehousing tool, I got the job within ten days of arrival in Chicago. Now,six years are over, I can clear a job interview at the first phone call if the job requirement matches my resume.
The moral of all these stories are, when you are in crisis, don’t ever lose your hope. Failure is just a stepping stone to success. Be patient, focus on your goal, take consistent action, you can pass the bad period and achieve a remarkable success as “THIS TOO SHALL PASS”.
All the Best

AIM FOR THE STARS!

The important thing about goal setting is,you should have a goal. What do you want to do?-This is an important question. The answer to this question will give you direction to your destination. You should know where you are going, otherwise you will end up nowhere. Here is a classic conversation between the cat and Alice in "Alice in Wonderland":
Alice came to a fork in the road.
"Which road do I take?" she asked.
"Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat.
"I don’t know," Alice answered.
"Then,” said the cat, "it doesn’t matter."
- Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

The first step in goal setting is having a goal. The next step is that you should write them down. The third step is to prioritise them. The fourth step is to visualiZe them as if you have already achieved your goals. The final and important step is to take consistant action towards the goal.

While writing you goals, follow the SMART method:
S- Specific
M- Measurable
A- Achievable
R- Realistic
T- Timely.
For example,i want to increse my monthly income to $10,000 from september of 2007.This fits the SMART method of goal setting.

Firsthand example of goal setting:
short term(< 1 year): I want to complete the construction of my house and have housewarming by the end of Aug'07.
Mid Term(> 1 year and < 5 years): I want to pay the full mortgage for my house by the end of 2009.I want to reduce my weight to 170lbs by the end of 2010.
Long Term(> 5 years): I want to retire by the end of 2012.I want to start my own business by that time.
Master Goal(It alignes with my life's purpose which is to help others): To start a Educational Trust in my grandpa's name and help the poor kids to get a good quality education.

If your goal is too big to handle, if you think, break it down to smaller chunks.Per example,to get rid of 36 lbs in 3 yrs is a big task for myself.but if i break down,it will be 12 lbs per yr,1 lb per month,.25 lbs per week which is very easy to achieve, right.
Be flexible in your path towards goal, relax a bit in between, treat yourself if you achieve a big chunk of it on the way.Goal setting and achieving it gives you immense satisfaction and increase your selfconfidence and self esteem.

GOAL SETTING QUOTES:

1. Arise, Awake and stop not till your goal is reached.-swami Vivekananda.

5. “
Without goals, and plans to reach them, you are like a ship that has set sail with no destination.”-Fitzhugh Dodson
6. “
The most important thing you can do to achieve your goals is to make sure that as soon as you set them, you immediately begin to create momentum. The most important rules that I ever adopted to help me in achieving my goals were those I learned from a very successful man who taught me to first write down the goal, and then to never leave the site of setting a goal without firs taking some form of positive action toward its attainment.”-Anthony Robbins
7. “
Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.”-Anthony Robbins
8. “You don’t have to be fantastic hero to do certain things – to compete. you can be just an ordinary chap, sufficiently motivated to reach challenging goals.-Edmund Hillary
9. “Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success”.-Stephan Brennen

Power of Perseverance

Perseverance = Firmness,Resolve,Determination
I think,Perseverance is one of the most important traits for one's success.I know, after you have done your job, everyone would be very eager to see the result immediately. But the Larva can't become a Butterfly in a day,it takes its own time.It has to go undergone the metamorphosis to become a butterfly. This is natural process.I know it is painful to wait, but this is the process.Take action,do your job, follow through, wait patiently, you will get what you want. You can't build a palace within minutes, only aladin's genie can do this. From the blue print to brick,it needs a lot of hard work and patient waiting.
Real Life example of my friend:
My friend is working as a software engineer in usa.He got married three years ago. After marriage,he thought he can set up an apartment in usa, then call his wife.He sent all the relevant docs for dependant visa. But everytime, she went, she got query after query. His employer did some mistake in the documentation process. He was not paid while he was on bench before marriage which relected in the documentation. They tried year after year.Meanwhile he used to go to india and spend months together with his family. His family, friends, relatives, everyone was critical of this guy.His elder brother's manager started saying like my son got the visa within 15 days, your brother didn't know what he is doing and his elder conveyed his manager's view to his family.Even his mother went ahead and asked why in the first place he got married. As his native place is a small village, all the people started asking why she is not going to usa after years. She was living in a small room in the remote village.she has to walk for 2kms to go bus stop. They used to talk over phone for hours together.None of his close friends even called her and asked her how she was doing and gave her hope. There were lot of family problems between both the families.
They prayed almost all the Gods in the southern india. But they never gave up,they tried year after year.In Feb this year, they got the depemdant visa, they are going to unite in usa in september. This is one of the classic example of Perseverance in real life.

Great Secret Revealed

As Featured On Ezine Articles

This weekend,i watched a movie called "SECRET".It speaks about "LAW OF ATTRACTION".In a Nutshell, whatever you want wholeheartedly, you will attract it and get it.It is an old concept but presented beautifully and powerfully by a panel of self help gurus. It inspired lot of people worldwide and the secret DVD sold 1 million copies so far.The panel that put together this, appeared in Oprah Winfrey show,Larry King Live,Ellen Show.
I remember some of the incidents regarding this:
1.If you go to any shopkeeper in southern india, normally a grocery store,if you ask for Toor Dall per example and if he doen't have the stock,he won't say no,instead he will say that i have moong dall.
2.My wife do lot of poojas and she will wake up all night to do the garland.when you ask her,she will say,we shouldn't do it for formality,we should do it wholeheartedly.
3.I have seen a sign board in one of my document writer's house as "only good will happen".
4.My younger brother's mother-in-law always says,if you don't have anything at home, don't say that i don't have this or that in front of guests or your family members, instead, try to buy it immediately or manage with other stuff.
I think,by now,you get my point.I have an example in my life itself:
Back in 2000,i was working as a sales rep for a multinational company selling copyprinter. My whole aim at that time was to go to usa.So i worked in day and studied oracle,VB at night.Whenever i went for a cold call near the chennai Meanambakkam airport,i used to say myself every single time, one day i will board a plan from here to USA.I used to read all the news about USA and all the formalities to go to USA.In November 2000,it really happened,i got an oppurtunity through one of consulting firms. One day i was really in a lufthansa plane to houston from chennai airport.I pinched myself,i couldn't believe myself.
So believe strongly in whatever you desire, visualise it,want it wholeheartedly, you will attract it and it will be given to you.
For the secret movie, just type secret movie in google.
I will try to write in this blog every week. All the best for your dream to come through.
