All of us afraid of change.
Once we are used to a routine,it is very difficult to adapt to a new one.
But the fact is life throws at you many surprises you won't expect.
Only change is changeless here.
Forecast a change,adapt to the new life once it embraces you,face the challenges are the essential traits to be successful.
When i first landed in United States of America back in 2000,i was a bit uncomfortable.
I couldn't understand the accent,Cultural differences.
Slowly by watching the TV,speaking to the clerk at the gorcery counters,i learnt the accent.
By working with the locals,i undertand how friendly and compassionate these people are.
It is a land of opportunity,a great nation.
I read a book by name "OUR ICEBERG IS MELTING" in the last week.
It is another short fable like "Who moved my cheese".
Authors: John Kotter and Holger Rathgeber.
It is about a penguin colony in Antartica and how they adapt to change.
It applies to humans in all walks of life.We can identify ourselves with them.
There are five main characters in the story,Fred,Alice,Louis,Buddy,the Professor and NoNo.
There are emperor penquins and other penquins.
Fred is a curious and observant one.
He found a problem that may affect their existence itself.
The story tells in detail how the penquins overcome their obstacles in a courageous wayand they adopt to a new way of life.
It teaches the Eight step process of successful change:
1.Create a sense of urgency.
2.Pull together the guiding team.
3.Develop the change vision and strategy.
4.Communicate for understanding and buy in.
5.Empower others to act.
6.Produce short term wins.
7.Don't let up.
8.Create a new culture.
It is a beautiful little book to read and follow.
