What Lesson can you learn while ironing?

Ironing is the boring and tiresome work for me.Every week,it takes an hour or more of my valuable weekend.Ironing shirts are more tougher than pants for me.

Today,while ironing my clothes,i did one thing.I started with ironing my shirts instead of pants.It was tough initially,but once i am done with the shirts,ironing pants became very easy.What i learnt from this little change:

1.Start with the most difficult task in hand first.Once you finish it,you will get momentum and the rest will be easy.
This is what Brian Tracy called as "Eat that Frog!".

2.If you observe all the successful people,they will do whatever they have to do even if they don't want to do it.Read it again so that you can get the point.
Self discipline is one of the most important aspect to become successful.

3.If you think creatively and slightly change what you are doing,you can do the same task easily which you felt very difficult.

Embracing Imperfection

A story by a girl.
"When I was a little girl, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work.
On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage, and extremely burned toast in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed!

Yet all my dad did was reach for his toast, smile at my mom, and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember Watching him smear butter and jelly on that toast and eat every bite!

When I got Up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad For burning the toast. And I'll never forget what he said: 'Baby, I love burned toast.'
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if He really liked his toast burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, 'Debbie, your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides-a little burnt toast never hurt anyone!' You know, life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm not the best housekeeper or cook.

What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each other's faults - and choosing to celebrate each other's differences - is the one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.
And that's my prayer for you today.. That you will learn to take the good,the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of GOD. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where burnt toast isn't a deal-breaker! We could extend this to any relationship in fact - as understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship!! "

The Alchemist

I read an wonderful Novel called 'The Alchemist' by paulo coelho, who was born in Brazil.He won numerous awards for his writings and his works are translated into 66 languages.

It is a facinating read.It is so refreshing.It touches our soul and awaken it.
It is so inspirational.It is a must read for those who wants to follow their dreams.

The stroy of the novel is about Santiago,a shepherd boy's journey in search of a treasure.It narrates his journey from his hometown in Spain to the Great Eqypt Pyramids.In the journey,he meets an old king, crystal merchant, his lover, an englishman,tribesmen,alchemist.

In author's note,Paulo gives 4 reasons for not pursuing our "Personal Calling" in the ditor's note.
He says "The secret of life is to fall seven times and to get up eight times".Wonderful quote!

We are also dreaming about lot of things we wanted to do when we are young,but once we grow up,we give up everything.
Everything is a marvel and wonder for children,a flower,a butterfly,a grasshopper,a rainbow.But once we are adults,we lose that dreaming eyes and get lost in the daily grind.

The Moral of the novel: If we pursue what we dream with passion,against all the odds,we will reach our destination.

There are so many Golden nuggets along the journey which are life lessons for all of us to take:

"When you want something,all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it."

I cried when i read some of the lines.
I highly recommend this inspirational book.

Appreciate HER

The woman in your life...

You may get or have got a working woman, but you should accept her with these facts as well.
Here is a girl, who is as much educated as you are; Who is earning almost as much as you do;
One, who has dreams and aspirations just as you have because she is as human as you are;
One, who has never entered the kitchen in her life just like you or your Sister haven't, as she was busy in studies and competing in a system that gives no special concession to girls for their culinary achievements

One, who has lived and loved her parents & brothers & sisters, almost as much as you do for 20-25 years of her life;
One, who has bravely agreed to leave behind all that, her home, people who love her, to adopt your home, your family, your ways and even yourfamily name

One, who is somehow expected to be a master-chef from day #1, while you sleep oblivious to her predicament in her new circumstances, environment and that kitchen

One, who is expected to make the tea, first thing in the morning and cook food at the end of the day, even if she is as tired as you are, may be more, and yet never ever expected to complain; to be a servant, a cook, a mother, a wife, even if she doesn't want to; and is learning just like you are as to what you want from her; and is clumsy and sloppy at times and knows that you won't like it if she is too demanding, or if she learns faster than you;

One, who has her own set of friends, and that includes boys and even men at her workplace too, those, who she knows from school days and yet is willing to put all that on the back-burners to avoid your irrational jealousy,unnecessary competition and your inherent insecurities;

Yes, she can drink and dance just as well as you can, but won't,simply because you won't like it, even though you say otherwise.
One, who can be late from work once in a while when deadlines, just like yours, are to be met;
One, who is doing her level best and wants to make this most important,relationship in her entire life a grand success, if you just help her some and trust her;

One, who just wants one thing from you, as you are the only one she knows in your entire house - your unstinted support, your sensitivities and most importantly - your understanding, or love, if you may call it.

But not many guys understand this... Please appreciate "HER"

YOU ARE PRECIOUS!

A plum once said, just because a banana lover came by, I converted myself into a banana. Unfortunately, his taste changed after a few months and so I became an orange. When he said I was bitter I became an apple, but he went in search of grapes. Yielding to the opinions of so many people, I have changed so many times that I no more know who I am. How I wish I had remained a plum and waited for a plum lover.

Just because a group of people do not accept you as you are, there is no necessity for you to strip yourself of your originality. You need to think good of yourself, for the world takes you at your own estimate. Never stop down in order to gain recognition. Never let go of your true self to win a relationship. In the long run, you will regret that you traded your greatest glory - your uniqueness, for momentary validation. Even Gandhi was not accepted by many people. The group that does not accept you the way you are, is not your world.

There is a world for each one of you, where you shall reign as king / queen by just being yourself. Find that world... in fact, that world will find you.

What water can do, gasoline cannot and what copper can, gold cannot. The fragility of the ant enables it to move and the rigidity of the tree enables it to stay rooted. Everything and everybody has been designed with a proportion of uniqueness to serve a purpose that we can fulfill only by being our unique self. You as you alone can serve your purpose and I as I alone can serve my purpose. You are here to be you... just you.

There was a time in this world when a Krishna was required and he was sent; a time when a Christ was required and he was sent; a time when a Mahatma was required and he was sent; There came a time when you were required on this planet and hence you were sent. Let us be the best we can be. Don't miss yourself and let the world not miss you.

In the history of the universe, there has been nobody like you and to the infinite of time to come, there will be no one like you. Existence should have loved you so much that it broke the mould after making you, so that another of your kind will never get repeated. You are original. You are rare. You are unique. You are a wonder. You are a masterpiece... your Master's piece. Celebrate your Uniqueness.
